A World of Chaos and Order

Tris'Hath, which translates to chaos and order in the ancient tongue of the dragons (amended), is far less chaotic than it used to be.

For over a thousand years, the world was ruled by hydras; a behemoth species who saw destruction as necessary to their survival as breathing. In recent years and thanks to a war that is too long to summarize here, the hydras have been exiled from Tris'Hath. In their stead, the dragon riders of Lanutha have claimed freedom for all (but really, everyone knows who's in charge when they show up with a fire breathing dragon).

Below follows a short summary of the countries of Tris'Hath.

Cadma

A lush and tropical continent full of diverse people and cultures. The five princelets that make up Cadma are human controlled, but each one supports "pockets" of other races that have claimed certain lands as their own. It is currently in a state of peace between the five ruling princes, but Cadma has a long history of internal conflict. Recently it has become home to a new flourishing population; the dragons of the Nexus.

Lanutha

A tropical country on the north-western edge of the Cadma continent, Launtha has the distinction of being both a few decades old and centuries old. It was one of the original princelets established after the fall of the Cadmani kingdom, but roughly eighty years past, it was absorbed by its neighbours after a continental war. It has only recently been re-established by the grandson of the warlord who perpetuated its fall. High Prince Aaron Audil now rules from his seat in Castle Drakmor, having not only resurrected his homeland, but also earned the trust and respect of enough of the other princes to be elected their primary member.

Lanutha itself is a sprawling, hilly country with extensive forests and grasslands. It controls the northern coast of Cadma, and claims the most populous port, Terglinear, as its capital.

Lanutha is also home to the Warren, wherein live the dragon riders. This motley collection of humanoids follow the leadership of High Princess Mystic Dragon-Audil, who was the first dragon rider of Tris'Hath and established the Warren as a sanctuary for all those outcast, unwanted, set adrift, or otherwise in need of a place to call home.

Antiem

The central country of Cadma, Antiem is the only landlocked of the five princelets. It is the smallest princelet, but also the richest thanks to its plentiful farmlands and river systems. It is known as the "cornucopia" of Cadma. For this reason, it has often been the site of warfare in previous years and has taken a very defensive stance with its fellow princelets.

Prince Reuss is a guarded, calculating man. He guides his princelet justly and fairly, but tends to be a little restrictive in terms of trade agreements.  He has recently agreed to the construction of a warren on his own lands and entrusted leadership of this warren to Antiem's first dragon rider; Hewlitt Oneya-Maes. The warren is to be named Viljestark Warren and will be constructed within the ruins of an ancient dwarven mine located near the capital city of Maeda.

Traxar

Perhaps the most popular (and fashion forward) of the five princelets, Traxar is home to elegant, manicured grasslands, cultivated forests, and the spine of the Dragon Tooth Mountains. Its arable land is small compared to the other princelets, but it has made efficient use of every inch of field, hill, and mountain top.

Traxar's capital city of Lesteppe is home to Prince Lothair and his retinue. It is also the center of cultural and artistic advancement among the princelets. Though not all may agree with Traxar's taste in fashion, none can deny that the scholars and artists produced within its borders are a step above the rest.

Traxar has also begun construction of its own, yet unnamed, warren. It will be helmed by Erec Bonnay.

Sudland

The most temperate (but still tropical) of the five princelets, Sudland is build primarily of hills, plateaus, and grasslands. It lacks an abundance of forests, and its coastal area predominately contains cliffs. It is a difficult and tough land to work, but so are its people.

Sharing a border with the southern continent of Dyrfold, Sudland has no shortage of skirmishes and small wars. Its people are a hard and unyielding lot who view warfare as just another everyday aspect of life. As such, it has few resources to share with its fellow princelets.

Prince Andel was one of High Prince Aaron's early supporters and continues to be a friend and mentor to him to this day.

Sudland's warren is named Sewyn Warren and run by Sabrilla Alyssa Coranaet, granddaughter to Prince Andel. The warren is named for the late heir to the throne, Sewyn Eidwyn Coranaet, who died under mysterious circumstances.

Pentas

The other princelet that shares a border with Dyrfold, Pentas is a princelet made for war. Its greatest export is mercenary bands, and its numerous mines ensure that it never lacks for precious metals. It is a rich princelet, or would be if it were not so focused on constantly trying to overthrow its neighbours.

Prince Achille is a known bully and the only prince among the five that did not support Aaron's ascension to the seat of High Prince. He has been hostile toward Lanutha since before its resurrection, due in no small part to the land lost as the borders were re-established. Prior to Aaron's rise, much of Lanutha belonged to Pentas.

Prince Achille continues to be hostile toward his neighbours, but not openly so. When the dragon riders went to war with the hydras, he stood to benefit as much as anyone, and so he grudgingly supported their existence.

Now that each princelet is establishing its own warrens, Prince Achille is determined to ensure that Lanutha has as little oversight on their progress as possible. He has appointed his son, Brotus, to be the Caretaker of Pentas' unnamed warren, with his son Menes as advisor and aide.

Dyrfold

Little is known of the southern continent by the people of the north. What is known is this; travel is forbidden, as northerners are killed on sight in the south. Magic is forbidden, and any found to be in possession of magical abilities are either stripped of these powers forcefully or killed outright. The kings may rule in name, but the witch hunters rule the lands, enforcing their own rules on whatever cities and towns that have claimed their focus. It is not safe to be non-human among the kingdoms of the south.

Ruineum

Ruineum shares a border with Sudland and participates in regular scuffles with the northern princelet. The people of Ruineum are as hard and unforgiving as their northern neighbours. They claim righteous inspiration from the gods above as their reason for these endless attacks.

Eroskain

Eroskain shares a border with Pentas and does not shy away from conflict. Given their sprawling hills and valleys, they possess the highest concentration of monster lairs, and so retain the most wiedzmin. Yet like the other kingdoms, their interests are turning more toward total eradication of magic rather than mitigation, and so they have welcomed more and more witch hunters over the past few years. This has seen a resulting rise in monster sightings.

Leking

The most advanced among the kingdoms, Leking is the farthest removed from the border skirmishes, but no less present in their desire to eradicate magic from the world. They are the largest producer of witch hunters. They also possess the most coastline, and so maintain a larger naval force than infantry. They have recently begun experimenting with steam-powered machines.

Barok

Barok is a small, high tech island to the east of the central landmass. It is densely populated by a people known only as the Barokians. The Barokians are a short-statured, blue-haired distant relative of the Ilktarri elves (a subset of elves who are near to extinct).

Barok is highly advanced to the point of space travel, but due to a restriction on natural resources, they are a reclusive country that rarely steps outside its own borders. It has only recently begun efforts to establish lasting connections with a few of the princelets of Cadma.

Barok also operates a number of small space stations in orbit around Tris'Hath.

Saxet

A rough and tumble continent to the west of the central landmass, Saxet is ruled primarily by dust and rocks. It is a dry landscape composed primarily of desert, with a few spots of arable land around the coastline. This is where the majority of Saxet's population lives, as the interior of the continent is uninhabitable.

That is save for the mountain at the heart of the continent, known colloquially as the Devil's Dick (now renamed the Devil's Spine). This mountain region has recently become home to Nidus Caeligenus after the landing of the Abstract Destiny; a space-faring sanctuary operated by Doctor Schroeder. The Nidus has created a home for Saxet's own dragon riders. An act which has been warily welcomed by the natives of Saxet, and openly taken as a prelude to war by its many, many bandit bands.
