Personality: Preoccupied with appearance, discriminating, suspicious. Serzi is a loner through and through. Even without the added PTSD of his childhood, he has always been suspicious of the intentions of others and believes that every good act comes with strings attached. That said, he is also a romantic and deeply longs to find a place and people that he can be himself around. He is also fascinated by reptiles and can talk about them for hours.

Description: Skinny, darkly tanned, black hair, black eyes with flecks of hazel. Serzi is tall for his age, but also quite scrawny. He dresses in ragged, drab clothing and keeps his hip-length black hair pulled back in a ponytail. He wears a near permeant scowl.

In his drasis form, he is a foot taller, but no less skinny, giving him a skeletal appearance. This is heightened by the bony protrusions from his shoulders and down his spine. He has no hair in this form, but a mane of long, needle-thin spines that surround his head and run down his back.

Biography:

Even the most beloved drasis child is born into a world of strife and suffering. From a young age they are expected to begin proving themselves. Every meal is a test where food is the reward for besting one's siblings and peers. Every bit of education is imparted with the threat of physical punishment looming overhead. By the time they are fifteen, they are expected to have landed their first kill at a minimum.

Serzi was no exception to this way of life. He spent his younger years fighting for a place at the table, for the recognition of his parents and clan, and for the right to survive. He hated every second of it. Lacking in physical strength, he focused his skill development on the subtler arts; subterfuge, stealth, and poison. He became exceptionally good at moving around unseen and sneaking away with his prize while others fought for scraps. His intelligence and tenacity impressed his parents, and by the time he turned ten, he had earned the adoration he so desired.

On his eleventh birthday, his parents presented him with a surprise. A contract kill, all for him. An easy target, but one in a location the clan hadn't hit before. It would bring him great honour and praise to complete this contract. All he had to do was bring back the head of his target.

Serzi crept into Serwyn Warren under cover of dark and found his target with ease. The young man was at a festival with friends. No matter, Serzi could wait him out. Yet while he did, he watched.

The people of this Warren did not fight each other for food. They didn't throw punches in order to impress each other. They laughed. They embraced. They turned their backs on each other without any hint of fear for betrayal. It was a wild and unbelievable sight to the jaded drasis youth.

So when it came time for him to make his move on his target, he simply.... didn't. He followed the man back to his room, watched him lay down without a care and go to sleep. He watched throughout the night as no one came to attack him. In the morning, he shifted to his human form and vowed to never let his other side show again.

Serzi presented himself at Sewyn Warren as a wayward youth looking for a job. When asked about his skills, he blanked. He couldn't tell them "murder." So instead he went with his favourite pastime; reptile study. He spoke at length about the various lizards and snakes of Sudland and their habits. This seemed, by some miracle, to impress the recruiter to which he spoke. Before long, he was being introduced to the yeechi.
