Name: Robin Oggthop

Age: 15 years

Gender: male

Race: Human (Tris'Hathian - Antienese)

Height: 5'10"

Personality: Fair, self-confident, competitive. Robin is always up for a good fight. He considers bar brawls equally entertaining to good-natured sparring matches, and will give his all into whatever competition is set before him. With that being said, he will flat out refuse to engage in anything that is skewed to one side or another. Fairness is the mantra by which he lives, and he will not allow underhanded tactics to demean his moral high ground. Robin is also very sure of himself, both in terms of abilities and chances. He has never met a wager he didn’t like.

Description: White hair, white skin, pink eyes, hunched. From a distance, Robin is not an attractive creature. Up close, it’s still difficult to apply that phrasing to him, but at least one can say he carries himself with confidence. Robin has long, curled white hair, striking pink eyes, and skin far too pale for his place of origin. He is an albino, but the first meeting is the first and last time that anyone will note it, as he puts far more emphasis on his presence and bearing. He wears full platemail and, despite his hunch, stands tall in any crowd. He is fit, but still eats well, as evidenced by his round belly. On the rare occasions where he removes his helmet, his facial features are as misaligned as his spine.

Biography:

Robin was born to die. His parents never intended to keep him alive after the doctor handed the misshapen babe to them. In fact, they dropped him in the nearby swamp and promptly forgot about his existence.

This turned out to be a fortunate series of events in Robin’s life, as it introduced him to his foster father and the only family he would have growing up; a recalcitrant troll with dreams of grandeur.

Though the troll, Oggthop by name, was not a kind or even loving parent, he did take very good care of Robin. He raised him properly and always taught him to beware those who come with ill intent into their swamp. He also introduced him to literature and the stories of knightly valour that filled his waking hours.

Together they dreamed of being better than they were. Oggthop encouraged Robin to chase that dream, knowing that a human child, even one as ugly as him, stood a better chance of achieving it than a troll ever did.

As a youth, Robin accepted his calling and left Oggthop to achieve the dream they both desired. He certainly didn’t have an easy go of it, as the kindest reaction to an unwashed child reeking of the swamp was disdain. Yet Robin didn’t let the scorn of his own people keep him down. He found a band of knights and hounded them until they agreed to train him. Though the work was demeaning and disgusting, he did it without complaint.

Years later, having earned at least the grudging respect of his peers, Robin earned his knighthood. With that accomplishment in hand, Robin struck out to prove that one didn’t need to look valorous in order to live the lifestyle.
