Personality: Serious, quiet, introverted. Bol is not much of a talker. When thrown into a social setting, they would much rather watch other people engage in conversation rather than join it themselves. Though ideally, they'd be even happier left alone in a quiet room with a book. Despite their bookish tendencies, Bol is deeply fascinated by martial practices. Weapons training, hand to hand, all of it interests them. Martial skills is perhaps the one topic of which Bol won't shut up when prompted to discuss their hobbies.

Description: Short, tanned skin, shaven head, brown eyes. At their unimpressive 5'7" of height and built with the frame of an unstuffed scarecrow, Bol does not strike an imposing figure. Beneath their baggy clothes, that thin frame is 90% muscle. They wear no jewelry or adornments, and their oval face and unassuming features lend themselves to a rather forgettable appearance. Which suits Bol just fine.

Biography:

Born the child of miners, Bol's childhood was shaped by the understanding that they would grow into a life of hard labour, just like their parents. They took no issue with this life path, given that they had a fondness for physical exertion and loving parents who encouraged them in all of their pursuits.

During their teenage years, Bol discovered a passion for martial arts and self-defense, drawn not only to the physical empowerment it provided but also to the strategy and discipline it required. Training helped Bol develop both confidence and a strong sense of purpose. They realized they wanted to protect those who could not protect themselves, especially in a town where the miners often found themselves at the mercy of unscrupulous officials and bandits.

Bol's parents, ever willing to sacrifice to see their child happy, petitioned the town's closest trading partner for aid. That partner, as it turned out, was a monastery established high up on the mountainside, where the studious monks there practiced a tradition of personal actualization through martial means.

When their parents told Bol of their goal of apprenticing him to the monks, Bol jumped at the chance. They would absolutely miss their family, but they had two older siblings to help their parents in the mines, and with enough training, Bol could return one day and defend their town from evil doers.

Life at the monastery was not easy. Though a naturally introverted person, Bol was accustomed to the noise and exuberance of their family. Here though, the monks were quiet and contemplative.

After a year of adaptation, Bol found their place and began to excel in their studies. They soon worked their way up from new recruit to apprentice guard. Though they were content with their rising status, Bol always felt like they could be doing more.

The day the dragon riders arrived, Bol felt an overwhelming curiousity take hold of them. The same sort of curiousity that had driven them to martial studies in the first place. It came as no surprise to Bol or their teachers that, when the offer of exploring the world of dragon riding came up, Bol jumped at the chance. Not long after, they were packed up and on their way to the next chapter of their life.
