Name: Auren
Age: 15 years
Gender: female
Race: human (Tris'Hath - Lanuthan)
Height: 6'
Personality: Bubbly, excitable, hot-tempered. Auren is so much like her mother that it's a wonder they haven't imploded just by being near each other. She shares Ren's love for adventure and impulsivity. She also tends to react strongly to being called out or discredited and will respond with instant defensiveness. She is a kind person at heart, but it takes people a while to see through the fiery exterior to the steadfast and loyal friend underneath.
Description: Tall, thin, red hair, grey eyes. Auren shares her mother's height and narrow build. Though not as well muscled as her mother, she is no slouch. Her exercise preferences tend more toward running over storm-chasing though. She keeps her red hair braided and often thrown over one shoulder, and prefers earthy tones in her clothing.
Biography:
Ren had it all worked out. Raising two children on two different worlds at once was too much to manage. Easier for her and Eraill to split up their family and schedule regular visits until a better solution presented itself. It was a good plan in theory. It all fell apart when Tris'Hath shut itself off from the rest of the Nexus.
Ren was not a woman who took failure well. In her mind, there was always another way, another solution to be found. One just had to look hard enough. But there was no solution to the isolation of her world. Until the people responsible felt it safe enough to open up their magical barriers once more, she was stuck. In one chaotic day, she lost the love of her life, her second son, and the family she so desperately wanted.
Ren fell into a depression. She threw herself into her work and the war effort to keep her thoughts at bay. She didn't mean to ignore her son, Eralli, but she couldn't face him without seeing the family that she'd lost.
That all came to a head during one drunken night when Ren went out on the town to drown her woes. She woke up the next day and went to work as usual, but a few weeks later, she started to notice some odd changes. She was pregnant. Again. Only this time she didn't know who the father was and had no desire to seek him out.
Ashamed and abruptly aware of her lackluster performance as a mother, Ren swore off alcohol and dedicated herself to her son and the budding pregnancy.
Auren was born nine months later. She came into a world of war, strife, and chaos, and yet she never doubted the love and connection of her family. Growing up, Auren idolized her older brother and butted heads with her mother. She took advantage of every lapsed moment of attentiveness, every extended Wing meeting, every emergency council call, to take off from her den to explore the Warren and its environs. She was smart enough to never go beyond the borders of the forest, but she toed the line as closely as possible. Oddly enough, it was Eralli's cautionary tale that kept her from going too far. His story of how he'd almost been responsible for their mother's death scared her into obedience for that one, most important rule. For many years, despite all the trouble she caused otherwise, that was enough to keep the peace in their household.
After the end of the war, no amount of pleading or threats from her mother could keep her penned in. The world was safe now, right? That meant it was time to explore! She tagged along with Eralli and his friends as they prowled the halls of New Warren, made her own friends in the flight fields, and got herself into more trouble than seemed physically possible in a day. She was her mother's greatest headache, and she liked it that way.
When Tris'Hath opened itself up to the Nexus again, Auren changed tracks abruptly. No more did she run off the moment the sun rose. Now she hounded her mother's every step, pleading with her to visit another world to find her dragon life partner. That a dragon out there was meant for her went without saying. Just like her mother, she wanted to storm into the room and refuse to leave until she got what she wanted.
Over weeks and weeks of pestering, Auren finally wore her mother down, and the family took a trip over to Abazzu Castle, where rumours of drak eggs had filtered into the Nexus.
